Eid & The Emerald dress

Eid Mubarak!
Peace be upon you :) I'd like to wish all my blog viewers a very happy belated Eid! I hope you all had a wonderful celebration. I also hope that all the wisdom and ibadah that stemmed from the month of Ramadan continues..... Inshaallah.

This year i opted for a fresh look :) I purchased this dress awhile ago when i was diagnosed with EGDOCD (Emerald Green Dress  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). The symptoms were identified whilst watching Kierra Knightly run gracefully in "THAT" green dress in the movie 'Atonement'. Gladly i was cured when i under went medical treatment with a Kachel green dress :D however if there was too much green i think i would have been overdosed! hence i slipped on a long full length navy blue cardigan to balance out the colour :)

Tea Time in Tipperary

My grandparents wedding (1949)
Grandparents 60th anniversary 2008

Love is not love but a marriage of true minds - Shakespeare
Pink peonies, Victorian teacups and L.O.V.E were some of the little ingredients that made up my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary for last year, its amazing how with perseverance, patience and a dash of passion
does a marriage continue with such strength. Here my darling single people is an inspiration  for us ^_^

I have not yet found the ONE buttt i think Ive found something pretty close, perhaps a few of them- AlannahHill's array of prissy, very girly collection of feminine designs would make me alot happier than a man in boring shining armour haha.... I'm not usually one who drapes myself in pink and pearls however i don't think id mind if it were Alannah Hill couture :)

Warning: Style for this event is NOT hijab friendly however if you don't have the courage to start with a sheBANG hijab theres no harm to start  from the humble beginnings with a turban style covering and transition yourself to the full covering :) xoxo

Black Out!

I usually dont pose as vain as this so mind me >.< haha

 Photographer: Mummy dearest
My sister's wise words: When in doubt wear black
Indeed i find these words very moving when i only have 5 minutes to dress and scream "Omg I dont know what to wear!" All you have to do is gather all black garments and vwallla you have an outfit. However i must say im not really a fan of black clothes as it tends to make me look  pale :/

Please note: These pictures were taken over a year ago... so as time went by little miss nadiah realised the "half-jab" wasnt the correct way to cover up..so my point is dont be inspired by the turban! :)

Love Nadiah xo

Shame on us...

Do you see through the eyes?

Photos by: Steve McCurry

Have you ever met that one person who could make such an impact on your life? Well i did..Some time ago i was invited for dinner by a friend, a simple, humble, grateful, beautiful individual who made me ponder on the question of why? ohhh whyy? do i and many of us bloggers care so much on material possessions? i really wish i could be the girl who walks out of the door dressing effortlessly, makeup less, opinion caring less and brand less. Is this really what defines me and you?  sadly i think to some extent it does...you may not want to believe it but just imagine yourself without any "beautifying" possessions (I'm talking really dodgy style) i know i would feel pretty crap. However its contradictory because i admire the dodgy styled girl as to me she depicts purity.

So after much pondering Ive decided to start on a little voyage to simplicity :)
Indeed this will be a difficult voyage for such a shopaholic like me, hence Ive started reading the novel "No Logo" written by Naomi Klein in order to persuade myself that Brand names are for pathetic marketing victims (like myself)^_^ (i mean don't you realise paying an extra $40 for the letters CK sewn onto a t-shirt is manipulative?)

Id like to share with you some photos taken by my favourite photographer Steve McCurry who captures  emotions  through his lens... for some reason these pictures touch me as it almost seems as though you can feel the hope, sadness and despair through the eyes of these girls from both poverty and the aftermath of civil war.
I hope by staring into these girls eyes your heart is enlightened to take a step and donate a little to Human appeal international to make this a better world (Nadiah sings Michael Jacksons' "heal the world")  :)

Just add hat

One weird tree >.<

Photo: Kate Spade
My dear sister

On those blazing hot summer days just add a hat to the scarf to get the perfect summer look :) I do realize my neck is showing (naughty naughty) but you can always adjust the scarf to suit yourself :)
